WASHINGTON, Oct. 12 (UPI) -- President Barack Obama will conduct a White House Tribal Nations Conference Nov. 5 as part of his outreach to the American people, the White House said Monday.

The conference will provide leaders from the 564 federally recognized tribes to interact with Obama and members of his administration, the White House said in a news release.

"I look forward to hearing directly from the leaders in Indian Country about what my administration can do to not only meet their needs, but help improve their lives and the lives of their peoples," Obama said.
