ZIHUATANEJO, Mexico, Oct. 10 (UPI) -- A man sought by Idaho authorities for allegedly killing his girlfriend and her two sons in 2002 has been arrested in Mexico, officials say.
The Mexican attorney general's office said Friday that Jorge Alberto Lopez Orozco, who was on the FBI's 10 Most Wanted list, was apprehended in Zihuatanejo, a city northwest of Acapulco on the Pacific Coast in southern Mexico, CNN reported.
Lopez, 33, is wanted in Elmore County, Idaho, for the abductions and slayings of his girlfriend, Rebecca Ramirez, and her two young sons, who were taken from Ramirez's father's house in Nyssa, Ore., July 30, 2002. Authorities say a torched car with their three bodies were found nearly two weeks later on a rural road near Mountain Home, Idaho.
Debbie Dujanovic, a spokeswoman in the agency's Salt Lake City field office, told the U.S. broadcaster the agency was working to confirm the identity of the man in custody.
