VIENNA, Oct. 5 (UPI) -- Inspectors from the United Nations' nuclear watchdog will visit the recently disclosed uranium enrichment facility Iran Oct. 25, the agency said Monday.

The visit was announced after talks between International Atomic Energy Agency Director General Mohammed ElBaradei and Iranian authorities in Tehran Sunday, when they discussed arrangements for the inspectors' access to the plant under construction in Qom, the U.N. said in a news release.

The IAEA, based in Vienna, was informed by Iranian officials about the construction of a new enrichment plant. U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said last week the facility violates U.N. Security Council resolutions because of delay in its disclosure.

Iran maintains its nuclear program is peaceful in nature, while many Western countries said they believe Iran is developing the capability for nuclear weapons.
