TEHRAN, Feb. 7 (UPI) -- Iran is ready to answer "all questions" regarding its nuclear research activity, a spokesman for the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran said Friday.
Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency in November agreed to work more closely on nuclear issues. Iran under the terms of the deal voluntarily agreed to allow IAEA greater access to some of its research programs.
Behrouz Kamalvandi, a spokesman for Iran's atomic energy agency, said Iran and the IAEA were ready to discuss future cooperation.
"As we have already announced, we are ready to answer all questions about our peaceful nuclear activities," he was quoted by state-funded broadcaster Press TV as saying Friday.
Iran says it has the right to conduct nuclear search as a party to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. Under a separate deal with Western powers, it said it would curb its enrichment activity in exchange for relief from some economic sanctions.
Kamalvandi said the terms of the deal with the IAEA end Sunday.
"After this date, we will study how to continue cooperation with the IAEA," he said.
Iran's official Islamic Republic News Agency reported inspectors from the IAEA are due Saturday in Tehran.
Iran is suspected of pursuing the technology needed to make a nuclear weapon, a charge it denies.
