TEHRAN, Nov. 30 (UPI) -- A measure passed by the Iranian Parliament sets aside $20 million to counter U.S. and British efforts against the Islamic republic.
Lawmakers set aside $20 million to expose the alleged human-rights violations made by Washington and London.
The single article in the bill deals with a national effort to counter the plots against Iran perpetrated by the U.S. and British governments and aims to highlight their human-rights violations, the official Islamic Republic News Agency reports.
Lawmakers agreed to establish a working group to define the best way to distribute the funds outlined in the bill.
Tehran blames outside interference for a variety of national issues, from terrorist attacks in the south to violence that greeted the disputed victory for Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in June elections.
The Iranian Ministry of Intelligence is required to report to a national security council on the measure every three months.
The provision of the bill was met with "overwhelming" support from lawmakers, the IRNA report stated.
