PARIS, Sept. 25 (UPI) -- An Iranian dissident group in Paris said it has satellite images and details on two sites in Iran that it says are used to develop nuclear weapons.
On Friday, U.S. President Barack Obama joined British Prime Minister Gordon Brown and French President Nicolas Sarkozy on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Pittsburgh, Pa., in issuing a sharp condemnation to Tehran following the revelation it allegedly was working on a previously undisclosed enrichment site.
Meanwhile, the National Council of Resistance of Iran, the Paris-based political arm of the dissident People's Mujahedin of Iran, said it has evidence suggesting Iran is at work on a nuclear weapon, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty reports.
The group often touts its unveiling of the nuclear program at the Natanz weapons facility in Iran.
However, analysts and PMOI affiliates said the intelligence value of reports from the dissident group, are debatable.
Nevertheless, Mark Fitzpatrick, a nuclear non-proliferation expert at the International Institute for Strategic Studies in London, tells RFE/RL the claims go a long way to support many of the suspicions of Washington and its allies.
"They (Iran) have been reporting to the IAEA and allowing access, somewhat fettered, to their main enrichment plant," Fitzpatrick continues. "But there has been a lot of interest and concern about what else they may be up to."
