TEHRAN, Oct. 29 (UPI) -- Iran condemned Washington's actions in Syria and Pakistan which left several civilians dead in recent attacks, the Iranian parliamentary speaker said Wednesday.

Iranian speaker Ali Larijani said in the opening session of parliament Wednesday that any consequences of military "adventurism" in the region cannot be controlled by Washington, the Islamic Republic News Agency reported.

A U.S. missile strike from an unmanned drone aircraft hit a target in Pakistan's South Waziristan region Monday, killing 20 people, including top Taliban leaders. The Pakistani foreign minister Wednesday lodged a formal complaint against the attacks.

The Iranian media report said that attack was the 70th violation of Pakistani sovereignty.

On Sunday, four U.S. helicopters carrying military personnel entered Syrian territory near the Iraqi border in a counter-terrorism operation against the head of al-Qaida operations there. The Syrian government Wednesday demanded an apology for the incident, and Iraqi lawmakers said they would launch a formal investigation into the raid.

Addressing lawmakers Wednesday, Larijani said Tehran regretted that U.S. military aggression in the region had expanded to "the friendly country Syria."

Meanwhile, Iran and Syria during a bilateral industrial trade summit signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in several sectors, including aluminum, steel and agriculture.
