Tymoshenko supports Georgia deal

KIEV, Ukraine, Oct. 1 (UPI) -- Ukraine's prime minister said Wednesday she fully supports Georgia's conflict resolution agreement signed at the Ukraine-EU summit.

Yulia Tymoshenko announced in a press conference Wednesday that her political bloc stands behind Georgia on the country's conflict resolution agreement, Ukraine's government reported.

The resolution, which calls for provisions on the territorial integrity of Georgia, was signed at the Ukraine-European Union summit in September. Tymoshenko made the announcement despite likely opposition from Russia.

Tymoshenko said she has supported Georgia from the beginning of its recent conflict with Russia and promised to remain steadfast.

"We completely support this statement and (are) ready to vote for it in the Parliament," Tymoshenko said in a statement.

"This absolutely clear position was made public by us since the first day of Georgia's military conflict."
