U.S. foreign policy impacts most countries around the world. It is the cause of many troubles and miseries, as well as an increased hunger for power. Many analysts and politicians illustrate that these impacts create a shadowed impression on the U.S. foreign policy.
Many prefer not to discuss U.S. policy due to the unclear and vague agendas it has, especially those implemented in the Middle East, the independent Shabab al-Iraq newspaper said Thursday.
The U.S. destruction
The United States interfered in Iraq using the excuse of the weapons of mass destruction that would "destroy" the region and the world. When the lie was uncovered, the United States changed its goals and reason for invading Iraq.
Meanwhile, as the United States claims to "save" the world from the weapons of mass destruction, Iran and Pakistan are allowed to develop nuclear programs.
Not long after the "liberation" of Iraq, the Iraqi people described the U.S. presence as devastating. The miseries of this occupation became such a disgusting experience to the rest of the world that other countries prefer to have dictatorships rather than allow a power like the United States to "free" them.
When the United States failed to convince the world it was liberating Iraq, it claimed Iraq was a battle against al-Qaida. Terrorism existed in Iraq because of the presence of the United States. The war may be between the United States and al-Qaida, but the people of Iraq are stuck in the middle.
As result of the negative role played by the Iraqi government and security forces, various militias and armed groups emerged. The inability of the Iraqi government to control the situation is a result of U.S. policy that paralyzed authorities.
It took three years for the first elections to take place in Iraq, and those transferred the country from one under a single dictatorship to one under several dictatorships and small "federations."
The only benefit the United States gained from entering Iraq was changing Paul Bremer, the head of Coalition Provincial Authority in Iraq, from being an "expert" on terrorist issues to the best expert in investments.
Bremer assigned billions of dollars of reconstruction money in Iraq, but it all disappeared before the first project was implemented, the newspaper said.
The U.S. elections have an impact on the situation in Iraq. The success of any presidential nominee depends on his future policies in Iraq and the knowledge he has about the situation.
Iraqis, more than anyone, understand Republican nominee and Arizona Sen. John McCain about as well as U.S. politicians and journalists understand Tehran's influence in Iraq, al-Basaer newspaper of the Sunni Association of Muslim Scholars commented Thursday.
The struggle for domination in Iraq
Unlike the British political analyst and journalist Patrick Cockburn of The Independent, and many Iraqis, few U.S. politicians and analysts notice the United States and Iran support the government of Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki.
At the same time, the United States and Iran compete to dominate Iraq and its people.
The United States lies when it claims it is against the Iranian presence in Iraq. The United States refuses to announce its agenda in Iraq, insisting it is waiting for the "development on the ground." This development clearly refers to Iran's role that could be a direct threat to Israel, the newspaper said.
This ironic competition between two enemies, but secret friends, reconfirms the notion that Iran has a powerful presence in the region, unlike U.S. forces who eventually would withdraw from Iraq.
If McCain and other U.S. politicians remain unaware of the role Iran plays in Iraq, they would be taking a big risk and making a bigger mistake. If the United States insists Washington is the decision maker in Iraq, it will be taken by surprise by the games Iran can play.
The U.S. invasion of Iraq created numerous problems. As a matter of fact, the plans implemented in Iraq caused chaos, death, displacement and destruction of the society and infrastructure.
Since the occupation of 2003, the screams of pain from the Iraqi people fell on the deaf ears of the Iraqi politicians, the daily al-Mashriq newspaper said Thursday.
America: We beg you for mercy
The Iraqi people reveal their pain and ask the United States to prevent a manufactured chaos named "democracy." The Iraqi people demand the occupier at least repair the damage from the lies it used to justify the invasion. One lie leads to many lies, which is unjust.
The Iraqi people of the new Iraq beg the occupier, calling it "friend," so that it unchains Iraq and ends the troubling game. The United States, in order to reach its greedy goals, has employed religion and those who run after power and money to help its mission in Iraq. In addition, the United States put in power those who still call for sectarianism and division in an effort to destroy people's future.
The officials the U.S administration put in power control people who set up a "democratic" state with unreal decisions and financial corruption.
Thus, the Iraqi people scream, with an echo heard everywhere, that the United States is committing the most heinous crimes in the history in Iraq. The United States, by placing officials who only look for power and money in control, is torturing and devastating the Iraqi people.
The United States should remember that building its "empire" on the account of cruelty, bloodshed and hatred of the human race is not only unfair but is also against their interest, the newspaper said.
