JERUSALEM, June 24 (UPI) -- A second violation of the truce between Israel and Hamas occurred Tuesday afternoon after three Kassam rockets were fired into Sderot in the south of Israel.
Officials say the rockets were fired from the Beit Hanoun area of the Gaza Strip, marking the second violation of the fragile truce between Israel and Hamas that went into effect last Thursday, the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported.
Two people were treated for shock, and one house in Sderot sustained damage in the attack. Hamas representatives responded to the violence, saying they remain committed to the cease-fire, while Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert's office released a statement calling the attack a violation of the Egyptian-brokered truce.
