NEW DELHI, May 22 (UPI) -- The little-known terror group Indian Mujahedin has threatened to attack Muslim clerics who have pledged to fight terror.
The group sent an e-mail message to some of the clerics who had called upon the Muslim community to fight terrorism, saying it is against the teachings of Islam. The group, which has claimed responsibility for the May 13 bombings in the city of Jaipur, recently said it has included the names of all those "clerics of evil" in its hit list.
"With the help of Allah, we have succeeded in establishing a real force to attack non-believers," the e-mail said.
"O Ulema-e-Satan (clerics to evil), the truth is exposed now. The Ummah (Muslim community) is no longer going to follow you blindly in spite of your big conferences and gatherings of leaders of different schools of thought against the Mujahideen of Islam," the group said.
Indian Mujahedin also threatened the Indian government, saying it should be ready for more terror attacks for its support of the United States and Britain. Issuing a warning against Indian security forces, the group said if innocent Muslims are arrested and harassed, the day is not far off when security personnel will be killed on the streets of various cities in the country.
"If the police force believes that they have solved all terrorist attack cases, they are wrong," the message said. Maulana Khalid Rashid Firangi Mahali, who was one of the recipients of the message, said he had passed on the information to the police.
