WASHINGTON, March 19 (UPI) -- The director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation has named a new special agent in charge of intelligence for the Washington field office.

FBI Director Robert Mueller announced Michelle Jupina has been appointed to the intelligence post replacing Timothy Healy, who officials say has been named the new deputy assistant director of the Directorate of Intelligence at FBI headquarters, the FBI reported.

As SAC of Intelligence in Washington, Jupina will oversee the intelligence division's operations in Washington. Jupina has a long history of intelligence work including working on investigations in cyber, white-collar crime, criminal and counterintelligence matters.

"While at Washington Field, she received the United States Attorney's Award for leading a high-profile cyber investigation. Jupina later became a supervisory special agent in the National Infrastructure Protection Center, and later in the FBI's Cyber Division, where she focused on computer intrusion and malicious code investigations," the release said.

Jupina has also served as special assistant to the executive assistant director of the National Security Branch and Intelligence among other intelligence posts.
