India: Kashmir rebels eye arms dealers

NEW DELHI, Feb. 21 (UPI) -- India says militants in Kashmir are looking to buy arms from underground dealers following a fall in support from Pakistan.

Security forces in Jammu & Kashmir state have intercepted messages from militants in Kashmir suggesting they are now trying to buy arms from underground arms dealers in the state, as there has been a reduction in support from Pakistan, a senior Intelligence Bureau official said Thursday.

Intelligence inputs suggested that militants were also unhappy with the Pakistan army, which has launched operations against fundamentalists and militants in the North-West Frontier province of the country and areas bordering Afghanistan, the official said.
