Indian rebel negotiator fears for life

NEW DELHI, Feb. 14 (UPI) -- A key negotiator of an Indian insurgent group accused the army and security forces of conspiring to kill him.

Hiranya Saikia, a vital link between the government and the banned United Liberation Front of Assam, claimed to have received a threat to his life and termed it as part of a conspiracy hatched by a section of security personnel and politicians to derail the peace process set in motion to resolve the insurgency problem.
