Taliban leader caught in Afghanistan

KABUL, Afghanistan, June 4 (UPI) -- An upper-level Taliban sub-commander has been captured in Afghanistan's Logar province by an Afghan-international security force, NATO said Friday.

The Taliban leader, taken into custody along with another suspected insurgent Thursday night, has been responsible for bomb and small-arms attacks against coalition forces, NATO said in a statement on its Web site. He was captured while the coalition forces were searching a compound in the village of Muchkeyl.

A separate Afghan-international security force operation resulted in the detention of several suspected insurgents at a cave complex in Ghazni province Thursday night without shots being fired, NATO said.
