Gaza group vows jihad against Israel

JERUSALEM, Dec. 1 (UPI) -- A recently established Palestinian terror group in Gaza vowed to continue waging holy war against Israel, a report said.

The Revenge Battalion, in a recent dispatch it described as a warning to Israel, said it was not bound by a recent Hamas agreement that called on groups in Gaza to refrain from attacking Israel, the report said.

The Institute of Terrorism Research and Response, which monitors the group's activities, supplied United Press International Tuesday with details of the group's communique. When asked how long the group had been operating, an official at the institute described it as being "new."

In its dispatch, the group called on all Palestinian groups in Gaza to join forces and fight until all the land occupied by Israel is liberated.

"We want to note that we don't have an agreement with Izz-a-din-al-Qassam brigades (the Hamas military wing) about stopping the jihad against Israel. We in the army of revenge are ready to continue with the jihad until the liberation of every part of occupied Israel," the dispatch said.

The group also condemned the Hamas regime in Gaza for arresting cell members and demanded their immediate release.
