QERA, China, Nov. 8 (UPI) -- No casualties were reported Sunday in a 5.6 magnitude earthquake that rattled Xigaze Prefecture in China's Tibetan region, authorities said.

The quake hit near Ngamring and Saga counties, damaging some homes in Qera, but no buildings were reported collapsed, Xinhua, China's state-run news agency reported.

The quake's epicenter was 29.4 degrees north latitude and 86.1 degrees east longitude at a depth of about 20 miles, the National Seismological Network said.

Emergency officials were being dispatched to inspect for damage in Qera, where the quake was felt the strongest, Xinhua reported.
