MOSCOW, Nov. 1 (UPI) -- Russian police were looking for thieves who made off with 50 mink coats from a private showroom in Moscow, authorities said.

Two men entered a private firm Saturday night, locked a security guard in a back room and stole the coats worth 1.5 million rubles ($52,000), a police spokesman said.

Valuable mink coats are a common target for thieves in Moscow, Russia's RIA Novosti reports. In January, 30 coats worth $86,000 were stolen from a shop and armed men invaded a fur exhibition in Moscow in November 2008 and stole 75 fur coats.
