PRAGUE, Czech Republic, Nov. 1 (UPI) -- Czechs aren't very satisfied with the work of their country's police, with more than half saying police performance isn't good, a poll indicates.

An Internet poll conducted by the polling institute SANEP found almost one-third of Czechs say they have seen instances of police corruption and call the police untrustworthy, the Czech news service CTK reported Sunday.

The poll found only 36 percent of Czechs have seen the police helping citizens, while 59 percent said the police had never helped them, the news service said.

The SANEP poll found Czechs seem more dissatisfied with the work of their local police forces (with 53 percent expressing dissatisfaction), while the figure for the national police was 41 percent.

CTK said the poll was conducted online Oct. 20-29 with a sample of 10,190 Czech adults. No margin of error was reported.
