A former LaGuardia Community College librarian died Monday when a tractor trailer ran her over as she walked home form church.

Ngozi Agbim, 73, was walking east on Church Ave. in Kensington at around 9:40 a.m and was crossing a nine-lane intersection at Prospect Expressway when she was hit by a truck that was turning right onto Prospect, police said.

Agbim reportedly pounded on the truck trying to get its attention, but fell under it and was ran over by its rear wheels. She died at the scene, police said.

Agbim was reportedly returning home from running errands after attending mass with her husband of 41 years, her neighbors said. She worked at LaGuardia Community college for 33 years and retired in 2005 as head librarian.

She is survived by her husband Silas, who returned home before she did and did not witness the incident, and the couple's three children.

According to the NYDaily News, local residents have pushed for additional safety measures to be implemented at the busy intersection.
