BOSTON, March 1 (UPI) -- March is here and it seems Old Man Winter is in no hurry to leave.

The latest winter storm is expected to bring snow and freezing rain to the Midwest, Northeast and Mid-Atlantic Sunday into early Monday. Three to five inches of snow are expected to fall from Indiana through Pennsylvania into New York and southern New England.

Rain and snow are expected in parts of California, while winter weather advisories are in effect from Kansas to Massachusetts. That puts Boston on the brink of breaking its all-time snowfall record for one season, which is currently 107.6 inches and was set in the winter of 1995-96, according to NECN.

In the Southwest, flood watches and warnings have been issued for parts of Arizona. Texas is thawing out following two days of freezing rain. Slick highways caused hazardous driving conditions and nearly 1,000 flights Saturday at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport were cancelled.

According to the National Weather Service, freezing rain could fall Sunday in the southern parts of Illinois, Missouri and Ohio.
