AUSTIN, Texas, March 10 (UPI) -- NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden is set to speak by teleconference to a panel at the South by Southwest festival in Austin Monday.

The conversation, which begins at 12 p.m. EDT, will be moderated by Ben Wizner, Snowden's legal advisor and the director of the American Civil Liberties Union's Speech Privacy & Technology Project. Snowden will be joined by Christopher Soghoian, the ACLU's principle technologist, and will include a question and answer session.

Snowden, who has been granted temporary asylum in Russia, fled the United States last June with thousands of secret documents that have led to revelations about the government's surveillance of private citizens in the U.S. and abroad.
