LONDON, Oct. 4 (UPI) -- American Idol's Simon Cowell celebrated his 50th birthday in high style Saturday at an estate in Wrotham Park, about 17 miles outside of London.
The bash, hosted by Sir Philip Green, a multibillionaire in the retail industry, and his wife Tina, cost nearly $800,000, Sky News and the Daily Mail reported.
Among the 400 or so celebrities on the guest list were Kylie Minogue, Elton John, Kate Moss, Kevin Spacey and Donald Trump, along with fellow American Idol judge Randy Jackson and former judge Paula Abdul.
Cowell's mother, Julie, 84, who was a cabaret artist, also was to be on hand.
The Times of London reported online the revelers were served champagne by waiters wearing Cowell masks and posters of the "Idol" judge were festooned throughout the estate.
Cowell's birthday is Wednesday.
