Somali gang releases French aid workers

NAIROBI, Kenya, Oct. 3 (UPI) -- A French aid group said Saturday Somali gunmen had released three of its workers abducted in Kenya this summer.

Action Against Hunger told the BBC the trio were being flown back to Kenya and would soon be reunited with their families.

The three were taken at gunpoint from their office in a remote area along the border between Kenya and Somalia on July 18. It was not known if a ransom had been paid to secure their release.

The British network said the newly released captives appeared to be in good shape.
