Suspect in double slaying shot by police

ANAHEIM, Calif., Oct. 1 (UPI) -- Anaheim police have shot and wounded a man suspected of kidnapping his 5-year-old son and killing the boy's mother and another man, authorities say.

Anthony Castillo, 31, said to be armed with a handgun, was shot when he refused to comply with police commands, Sgt. Rick Martinez of the Anaheim Police Department told the Los Angeles Times.

Castillo's condition was not revealed.

Martinez said a woman, believed to be in her 30s, was found shot fatally shot in an apartment. A man, believed to be an acquaintance, was found nearby also shot and died a short time later.

The boy was found at a relative's home.
