Forty people were rescued but some were in critical condition, PTI said.

The recently launched boat had embarked on the sight-seeing trip about 4 p.m. and had traveled about three miles when the accident occurred. PTI reported witnesses said the boat tilted after several tourists moved to one side to view elephants in the sanctuary on the banks of the lake.
