NEW YORK, Sept. 28 (UPI) -- Wal-Mart was the overwhelming winner in a poll that asked which company best symbolized the United States, pollsters said.

The retail giant was voted for by 48-percent of the respondents in a 60 Minutes/Vanity Fair poll compared to 15 percent who named Google and 13-percent who pegged Microsoft.

Another 6 percent named the National Football League while Wall Street's Goldman Sachs was identified by 3 percent.

The poll also asked Americans who they would be if they could trade places with a list of celebrities.

Men opted for movie star George Clooney followed by President Barack Obama. Women chose First Lady Michelle Obama over Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

The survey was conducted Aug. 27-31 and had 1,097 respondents. The margin of error was not reported.
