ANTIOCH, Calif., Sept. 21 (UPI) -- A woman held hostage for 18 years told police in Antioch, Calif., her accused captor did not molest her two daughters, a law enforcement source said.
"She's saying he didn't touch her kids," the source told the San Francisco Chronicle.
Phillip Craig Garrido, the kidnap-rape suspect, is suspected of fathering the two girls, ages 11 and 15, with Jaycee Dugard, 29. Garrido and his wife, Nancy, have been charged with rape, but Dugard told police Phillip Garrido had not touched her in years, the newspaper reported Monday.
Police searched for evidence of other kidnappings. They found bone fragments in a search of the Garridos' home and property next door, but say they may not find any more.
"My gut belief is none of the efforts are going to result in anything revealing evidence of additional crimes," Contra Costa County Sheriff Warren Rupf said. "But there isn't a person involved that wants to miss an opportunity to nail this creep."
