WILSONVILLE, Ore., Sept. 19 (UPI) -- At least eight people were injured in an accident involving more than two dozen motorcycles in Wilsonville, Ore., fire and rescue officials say.
Oregon State Police said Friday's accident occurred when members of the local motorcycle group, Brothers Speed, were unable to avoid suddenly slowed traffic on Interstate 5, KVAL-TV of Eugene, Ore., reported.
"It was a domino effect," witness Terry Scott said of the motorcyclists, who had been riding in a two-column formation prior to the crash. "There were bikes and people and gear flying."
Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue representatives said fire and rescue workers treated eight people for injuries ranging from broken bones to shoulder injuries.
Two people were airlifted to separate hospitals in critical condition after the accident. Those men, both motorcyclists, were identified as Herbert Sinclair of Heyburn, Idaho, and David Bowyer of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.
At least two sport utility vehicles were also involved in the crash, KVAL reported.
