Mother said Josh Powell threatened her

CINCINNATI, Sept. 16 (UPI) -- A 44-year-old woman is facing an assault charge for allegedly spanking a stranger's son inside a store, Cincinnati police say.
Court records showed Gloria Ballard allegedly hit a 2-year-old child three times on his buttocks without permission Tuesday after the boy said something to her while shopping at a Salvation Army store, The Cincinnati Enquirer reported Wednesday.
It was not reported what the child said to Ballard prior to the alleged spanking.
Cincinnati police allege Ballard also questioned the mother's parenting.
The identities of the boy and his mother were not reported.
