MARCY, N.Y., Sept. 15 (UPI) -- Lynette "Squeaky" Fromme, paroled from a life sentence for attempted assassination of President Gerald Ford, plans to live in New York, officials said Tuesday.

Fromme, a Charles Manson follower who served 34 years of a life sentence for pointing a gun at Ford in Sacramento in 1975, was released in August, the Syracuse (N.Y.) Post-Standard reported.

Fromme, 60, intends to live in Marcy, N.Y. with an unidentified friend, Oneida County District Attorney Scott McNamara said a state police captain told him in June.

McNamara said neither his office nor the police have had contact with Fromme, and parole officials have not confirmed whether she has made the move, the Post-Standard reported.
