HAVAT GILAD, West Bank, Sept. 13 (UPI) -- Israeli authorities and Jewish West Bank settlers clashed Sunday over an attempt to relocate a trailer home within a settlement, official media said.

Israel Radio said the clash came in Havat Gilad, in Samaria, when the Israeli Civil Administration tried to stop a settler from relocating a trailer, saying it was illegal and attempted to confiscate it, The Jerusalem Post reported.

Angry settlers reportedly punched holes in the wheels of a military vehicle and pelted security forces with stones. The Israeli broadcaster said a military commander was negotiating with the settlers to restore the peace.

The Post the clash came just as Israeli Army Chief of General Staff Lt. Gen. Gabi Ashkenazi was praising Jewish settlers' cooperation with the military during a Rosh Hashana toast at the army's Central Command.
