GALVESTON, Texas, Sept. 11 (UPI) -- A Texas woman set to be the focus of an "America's Most Wanted" episode says she remains hopeful the assailant in her 1990 kidnapping will be captured.
An upcoming "Most Wanted" episode will highlight the 1990 abduction, rape and attempted murder of then-8-year-old Jennifer Schuett of League City, Texas, The Houston Chronicle said Friday.
Schuett was kidnapped on Aug. 10, 1990, by an unidentified male who raped the young girl before slitting her throat and leaving her to die on a fire ant mound in Dickinson, Texas.
The girl was found hours later by a group of children and taken to the hospital where doctors were able to treat to her wounds.
Eventually Schuett was able to speak despite the wounds to her throat and voice box and now the 27-year-old woman will attempt to find her assailant through Saturday's "Most Wanted" show.
"I want him to pay for what he did, and I don't want him to hurt anyone else," Schuett told the Chronicle.
