LONDON, Sept. 8 (UPI) -- A British right-wing extremist must spend an indeterminate amount of time in jail for preparing to commit terrorism, a judge ordered Tuesday.

Judge Peter Thornton of the Old Bailey court in London said white supremacist Neil Lewington, 44, must serve at least six years of his sentence after being found guilty in July of laying plans to ignite a race war by bombing "non-British" people, The Times of London reported.

Prosecutors said Lewington, an unemployed electrician from Tilehurst, Berkshire, possessed video tributes to his heroes, Oklahoma City bomber Timothy McVeigh and Soho nail bomber David Copeland. After being arrested last year for causing a commotion on a train, Lewington's luggage was discovered to contain parts sufficient to make two explosive devices, such as lighters, batteries, wiring and digital clocks, the newspaper said.

"This man, who had strong if not fanatical right-wing leanings and opinions, was on the cusp of embarking on a campaign of terrorism against those he considered non-British," prosecutor Brian Altman told the court, The Times reported.
