JOLIET, Ill., Sept. 2 (UPI) -- A complaint has been lodged against one of the attorneys representing an Illinois man accused in the death of one wife and the disappearance of another.
Attorney John Paul Carroll has been reported to the Illinois Registration and Disciplinary Committee, but it has nothing to do with the case against retired suburban Chicago police sergeant Drew Peterson, the Joliet (Ill.) Herald-News reported Wednesday.
Peterson is the former Bollingbrook, Ill., police officer who faces homicide charges in the death of his third wife, Kathleen Savio, and the disappearance of his fourth wife, Stacey.
The Herald-News says Peterson attorney John Paul Carroll is accused of failing to reveal a plea deal to a pair of brothers he was representing in a Kane County murder case.
Brothers, Jaime and Edgar Castro were convicted on all charges before learning that prosecutors had offered them a plea deal.
The case involved the killing of a man who attempted to steal marijuana from them.
