Three slain outside Florida home

LAKE WORTH, Fla., Aug. 30 (UPI) -- Police said they were searching Sunday for the estranged husband of a slain woman, one of three people killed in a weekend Florida shooting.

Authorities in Lake Worth, Fla., said the woman, Yamika Murphy, 29, and her roommate Debbie Sears, 23, were shot dead outside their home early Saturday, while a friend of the pair, Ronald Anthony Wright, 23, died after being airlifted to Delray Medical Center, the Palm Beach Post reported.

Murphy's estranged husband, Bruce Strachan, 25, was being sought in connection with the slayings, police told the newspaper, which described Strachan as having an extensive criminal history, including a recent prison stretch for resisting an officer. Records indicated Strachan is 5-foot-10, weighs 173 pounds and has tattoos on both arms.

Murphy's friend Saprina White said Murphy and Sears were returning home when they were confronted by the shooter outside their Lake Worth home around 4:30 a.m. Neighbors gathered at the scene mostly did not want to talk to reporters, but some described the neighborhood as being relatively free of violent crime in recent years, the Post said.
