BOCA RATON, Fla., Aug. 22 (UPI) -- Two Florida employees of a private jet service stole everything from client information to office equipment to set up their own business, police allege.
Boca Raton police arrested Christian Matteis, 37, of Boca Raton and Leonard Tambasco, 27, of Boynton Beach, The Palm Beach Post reported. The charges include grand theft and theft of trade secrets.
Halcyon has a celebrity client list that includes director Spike Lee and Shaquille O'Neal. The stolen items allegedly include filing cabinets with client information, including financial details, but investigators are unsure if the data has been compromised.
Matteis had been the chief operating officer in the Boca Raton office of Halcyon Jets and Tambasco one of his employees there, police reports said. They were picked up Thursday at the offices of their new company Atlantis Jets.
The investigation began in May when Gregory Cohen, Halcyon's chief executive officer, reported the apparent theft to police. Cohen said a member of the sales force called him to ask why Matteis and Tambasco were removing items from the office.
Cohen said he found the Boca Raton office stripped when he flew down to investigate.
