ST. CHARLES, Mo., Aug. 18 (UPI) -- A 40-year-old woman tried to humiliate a Missouri teen by posting the girl's picture and phone number on a sexually suggestive Web site, prosecutors say.
St. Charles County, Mo., authorities allege Elizabeth Thrasher, 40, engaged in so-called cyberbullying -- using the Internet to intimidate someone -- by posting the teen's picture on Craigslist's Casual Encounters section following an online confrontation with her, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported Tuesday.
Prosecutors say the teen is the daughter of a woman who is dating Thrasher's ex-husband. Thrasher is being charged under Missouri's new cyberbullying law, classified as a felony, which was passed in response to the suicide of Dardenne Prairie, Mo., teenager Megan Meier, the Post-Dispatch reported.
The newspaper said the Craigslist posting included the girl's picture, the name of her employer, her e-mail address and her cell phone number. St. Charles County Prosecutor Jack Banas alleges the posting led people to believe it was an invitation to sexual activity, saying men called the girl.
