ORLANDO, Fla., Aug. 12 (UPI) -- John Moyer was found guilty of groping a woman playing Minnie Mouse at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Fla., a jury decided Wednesday.
Moyer, 60, was convicted of misdemeanor battery by an Orange County, Florida, jury and sentenced to write a letter of apology to the victim, Brittney McGoldrick, The Orlando Sentinel reported. He also was placed on supervised probation and must perform community service, the newspaper said.
"The verdict reinforces the fact that this type of behavior is not acceptable," Walt Disney World spokeswoman Zoraya Suarez told the Sentinel, adding that the theme park has banned Moyer from entering any Disney resorts.
Moyer, who had no criminal history, spoke briefly to Judge Wayne Shoemaker, reportedly telling him, "I am innocent, I am not guilty of the crimes that I've been charged with."
McGoldrick testified Monday that she had pushed Moyer away from her after the incident, the newspaper reported.
"My first reaction, I just pushed him down," she told prosecutors. "I was doing everything I could to get his hands off my breasts."
