N.J. man indicted in sex slavery case

JERSEY CITY, N.J., Aug. 9 (UPI) -- A New Jersey man nicknamed Prince lured scores of women into sex slavery over a nearly 20-year period, prosecutors allege.

Allen Brown Jr., 47, of Jersey City was among seven people indicted by a grand jury last week, accused of running a prostitution ring whose other alleged managers included Brown's mother and niece, The (Newark, N.J.) Star-Ledger reported Sunday.

Prosecutors say Brown lured young women at New Jersey bus stops, train stations and night clubs from Newark to Atlantic City, allegedly offering them drugs and "the good life."

Attorney General Anne Milgram said he offered drugs to those already hooked, turning their lives into "a living hell of addiction and prostitution," allegedly confiscating his prostitutes' identification cards and cell phones and demanding they turn tricks until they made a nightly quota of up to $1,000.

"These women were forced to prostitute every single day -- Thanksgiving, Christmas, there were no holidays," Milgram told The Star-Ledger. "We believe that he had between two and 20 women" working for him on any given day over a 19-year period.
