COLUMBUS, Ohio, Aug. 7 (UPI) -- An Ohio teenager accused of killing his twin brother has been released from a Columbus jail after authorities dropped all charges, prosecutors said.
Derris Lewis, now 19, was tied to the 2008 slaying of his twin brother, Dennis, by a hand print found on the wall of the bedroom where Dennis was shot, The Columbus Dispatch reported Friday.
Franklin County Prosecutor Ron O'Brien says the case against Derris Lewis came apart when tests showed the hand print did not have any blood on it.
O'Brien said the print did belong to Derris Lewis but that it "must have been placed on the wall at some unknown time prior to the homicide."
The twins' mother told police five men wearing masks and demanding money broke into the house and killed Dennis during a struggle.
Witnesses said Derris was not at home at the time.
