Aug. 5, 2009 at 6:16 PM

BUDAPEST, Hungary, Aug. 5 (UPI) -- An estimated 6 1/2-foot-long, 220-pound catfish attacked an Austrian tourist while he was fishing on a lake outside Gyor, west Hungary, lifeguards said.

A Ternberg, Austria, teacher, 36, was assisting his friend in pulling out the catfish from the water when it bit the man in the leg and pulled him into the lake, the Hungarian news agency MTI said Wednesday.

The man kicked the fish several times before it loosened its mouth and vanished in the lake, MTI said quoting the Austrian Kronen Zeitung daily.
