Mother said Josh Powell threatened her

MIAMI, July 31 (UPI) -- A Miami man faces charges of buying confidential records from a hospital employee and selling them to a lawyer looking for business, federal authorities say.
Ruben Rodriguez, 61, was accused of paying Rebecca Garcia, an ultrasound technician at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, $1,000 a month for the past two years for the records of hundreds of patients, officials told The Miami Herald.
The patients involved were treated for slip-and-fall accidents, car-crash injuries, gunshot wounds and stabbings.
The indictment says Rodriguez turned the information over to a lawyer, not identified in court papers, to be used "to improperly solicit JMH patients with hopes of representing them in future legal proceedings."
