Separate incidents injure 20 in Baghdad

BAGHDAD, July 30 (UPI) -- Two separate incidents in Iraq Thursday resulted in at least 20 Iraqis being injured, police said.

A bomb exploded in the Kadhmiya district in northern Baghdad, injuring 18 people, Kuwaiti news agency KUNA reported.

In southern Baghdad's Zafaraniya district, police said two people were injured when a U.S. patrol vehicle opened fire, KUNA reported. The official said it was unclear whether the patrol had come under attack.

Police also told KUNA another U.S. patrol was subject to an explosion in the Madaen district of southern Baghdad, but said they didn't know whether the blast caused material damage.
