Reward offered for slain agent's gun

SAN DIEGO, July 30 (UPI) -- The FBI, after offering a $100,000 reward for information leading to the killers of a U.S. Border Patrol agent, has offered another $10,000 for his gun.

The service weapon, a Heckler & Koch P2000, was missing when colleagues found Roberto Rosas' body July 23 near the border with Mexico, The San Diego Union-Tribune reported. Other agents had lost contact with Rosas as he followed a group of suspected illegal immigrants in Campo, southeast of San Diego.

A viewing for the slain agent was scheduled Thursday night at Faith Assembly Church in El Centro. A public memorial service was set for Friday at Southwest High School, followed by a burial service.

Mexican authorities say they have identified a suspect, who is in custody, named by four members of a group of human smugglers as Rosas' killer. Another man arrested in San Jose, Calif., is being held on immigration charges.
