Mom who lost custody of 13 kids pregnant

LUTON, England, July 30 (UPI) -- An Englishwoman who has lost custody of 13 children in 15 years is pregnant with her 14th child.

Theresa Winters, 36, of Luton in central England told The Daily Mail she should be given another chance to show she can care for her children. She acknowledged she was a "bit aggressive" when she gave birth to her first child in 1992 but said that was never directed at her children.

Her first child, a girl, was removed from her care in 1994. Since then, some of her children have been taken from her soon after birth.

Winters lost custody because of suspicion of neglect.

"I will be sitting in the hospital, and a nurse will come and take the baby away," she said. "It's devastating," she said.

Winters, classified as disabled after being injured in an accident, and her partner, Ian Housden, who is listed as her caretaker, live in public housing on disability payments. Housden is the father of 11 of Winters' children. The first two were fathered by her ex-husband, now dead.

Louise Walls, Winters' sister, told the Mail Winters has told her she will keep having children until she is allowed to keep one. Walls described her sister's behavior as "totally sick."
