LAS VEGAS, July 28 (UPI) -- A 2-year-old Nevada girl has died after being accidentally shot in the back by her 4-year-old brother.
A spokeswoman for the Clark County coroner said the death of Elizabeth Zeferina Serrano has been classified as accidental, the Las Vegas Sun reported. The toddler died Sunday, three days after being shot.
Investigators say the brother found a 9mm handgun, which went off as he held it. No charges had been filed.
Elizabeth was the second young child to die from an accidental shooting in the Las Vegas area in less than a week. On July 21, Giovanni Kopystenski, 5, died a day after shooting himself in the head with a handgun he found in his father's vehicle. Alex Kopystenski, 31, has been charged with felony child endangerment.
