SMITH, Alberta, July 27 (UPI) -- Four family members were found dead in a Smith, Alberta, home by police who went to the residence after getting a tip of a possible homicide, officials said.

Royal Canadian Mounted Police investigators said they thought the suspect was among the victims found Sunday in a house in a rural area near Smith, the Edmonton Journal reported Monday.

"While this is being treated as a homicide investigation, RCMP are not looking for any suspects and do not believe that there is any risk to the community," Cpl. Wayne Oakes said. "It does not appear that anyone outside of the immediate family was involved."

The bodies were sent to the medical examiner's office to confirm how each victim died, police said.

The Slave Lake RCMP detachment said it had no record of domestic violence at the residence about 125 miles north of Edmonton.
