LAWRENCE, Ind., July 26 (UPI) -- Three suspects were in custody Sunday after a 2-year-old girl and two others were shot at a wedding reception in an Indiana park, police say.

Police in Lawrence, Ind., said the child was seriously wounded in the Saturday night incident and that she and two women, who suffered leg wounds in the shootings, were rushed to a hospital, The Indianapolis Star reported.

Lawrence Police Chief Paul Whitehead said gunfire erupted after an argument broke out at the reception, adding that a handgun believed used in the shootings had been found underneath a nearby vehicle.

The names of the victims or the suspects had not been released, the newspaper said.
