Huizenga's son held on drunk boating count

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., July 22 (UPI) -- The son of billionaire Florida businessman H. Wayne Huizenga must remain in jail on a drunken boating charge, a Fort Lauderdale judge has ordered.

The judge ordered Robert Ray Huizenga, 47, held without bond on suspicion he may have violated his parole in connection with a 2003 drunken-driving incident in which a 71-year-old pedestrian suffered a concussion and a broken elbow, The South Florida Sun-Sentinel reported Wednesday.

The son of the former Miami Dolphins owner was arrested for the fourth time on alcohol-related charges and could face as much as five years in prison if convicted, Ron Ishoy, spokesman for the Broward State Attorney's Office, told the newspaper.

Police say Huizenga was arrested Monday night after docking his 2005 Jupiter Marine International vessel at the wrong house on the Fort Lauderdale canal. The home's resident called police when Huizenga's companion allegedly came up to the house and tried to open the door -- property records indicated Huizenga's house is on the other side of the canal.

A police report alleged Huizenga smelled strongly of alcohol, had slurred speech and refused to submit to a breath test, the Sun-Sentinel said.
